Why Volunteer?
Volunteers are important members of the Wellstar team and make a big impact on the experience our patients and guests have at our facility. Volunteering provides you with the ability to make a difference in the lives of others, helps you gain experience in a healthcare setting, gives you the opportunity for special recognition throughout the year, and is a great way to network.
Volunteer Roles
Volunteers at East Cobb Health Park assist at the information desk to provide directions and help patients and guests locate their destination.
Commitment
There is a minimum commitment of six months or 100 hours of service required for all adult volunteers aged 18 and older. If you are able to meet this commitment, please follow the process outlined below to become a volunteer.
Volunteer Application Process
- Complete the online application
- Provide current immunization record:
- Birthdate prior to 1957: No immunization records required
- Birthdate of 1957 or after: Applicants born after 1957 must include immunization records for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox) and Tdap. If you do not have access to your immunization records, you can request a blood titer for MMR and Varicella through your primary care physician or walk-in lab clinics. You may also contact a local urgent care to inquire if they offer blood titers.
- Proof of current flu vaccine is also required during flu season (September-March)
- Upload your immunization records into your volunteer profile
When your completed application is on file, our office will contact you if we have opportunities that meet with your interest and availability. If you have questions about your application, please email khvolunteers@wellstar.org.
